About SEW Eurodrive GmbH & Co KG
SEW Eurodrive GmbH & Co KG is an international manufacturer of drive technology with more than 20,000 employees worldwide, based in southern Germany. The focus of production and development is on motors and gearboxes. The goal of the internal IT is to modernize the internal IT landscape in order to be able to react efficiently to the data requirements of the future.
The Challenge: How do I modernize the existing IT landscape?
The goal of the workshop was a practical workshop on the topic of "Big Data Storage Systems" for the internal IT department of SEW Eurodrive.
This department faces the challenge of preparing the existing legacy IT for the data requirements of the coming years in the environment, IoT, AI and BigData in general and making it "future-ready".
The Solution: Practice-oriented, multi-day workshop
In consultation with those responsible, a workshop lasting several days was designed to meet the needs. In this workshop, the team was to be introduced to the required knowledge, an applicable methodology, practical examples and a case study, so that the team would then be able to ask the right questions and develop its own suitable solution strategy.
For this purpose, selected technologies and solution architectures were presented in theory and discussed in detail in the first part.
In the second part, methods for the approach as well as evaluation possibilities of different solutions were presented.
In the third part, a detailed case study was developed with the team in order to rehearse the previously gained knowledge and solution strategies on a concrete example.
The Results: The start into the future
The final Q&A session demonstrated the success of the workshop. Not only were many in-depth questions discussed, but a lively discourse developed on how parts of the existing IT landscape could be modernized.
benchANT thanks for the confidence and is looking forward to the upcoming follow-up projects with SEW Eurodrive. Thank you very much!
